Fred Meyer Community Rewards Program

March 6, 2014

FMCommunityRewards_2013This year, Fred Meyer is donating $2.5 million to nonprofits in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. Think about that for a second. That’s roughly $625,000 each quarter being pumped into community organizations, nonprofits, and of course, local schools. Sounds pretty generous doesn’t? But it gets better. You see, Fred Meyer, or “Freddy’s”—we’re on a first-name basis—is allocating these donations through their Community Rewards Program. “Okay, so what does that mean?” you might be asking yourself. Well, our fellow Fred Meyer shopper, that means that you have the power to decide where that money goes.

Here’s how it works; First, go online to link your Fred Meyer Rewards Card to your favorite nonprofit or charity. Then, go grocery shopping at Fred Meyer. That’s it. It’s that easy. See, whenever you use your Rewards Card, you’ll be helping that organization earn a donation from Fred Meyer.

Okay, everything is made simpler with examples, right? So say, for example, you’re really passionate about…oh, we don’t know, school supplies. Well, if that’s the case, then we here at Schoolhouse Supplies are the perfect nonprofit for you. You would then link us to your Rewards Card here. And voila! Every time you use your Card to pick up anything from basic groceries to that cool new barbecue you’ve had your eye on, you’ll be making a tremendous impact in the lives of students throughout Portland.

So what are you waiting for? Link Schoolhouse Supplies to your Fred Meyer Rewards Card, go shopping, and ensure that every child in our community has the tools they need to succeed.
