Support Schoolhouse Supplies through Give!Guide

G!G_2014_EducationAs the holiday season approaches many people are thinking about where to make their year-end giving. Through Give!Guide, Willamette Week has made philanthropy an extra rewarding and interactive activity. This year, we are ecstatic to be among 135 other deserving nonprofits included in the Give!Guide. Now through Dec. 31, Give!Guide serves as a guide to giving charitably with some sweet incentives.

In the past decade, the Give!Guide has raised nearly $10 million for nonprofits that strive to make Portland a better place to live and thrive. Organizations featured serve various aspects of our community such as arts, education, animals, health and wellness, environment, youth, and many more.

The goal behind Give!Guide is to encourage people ages 18 through 35 to start giving charitably and form philanthropic habits. Although Give!Guide is targeted towards young adults, everyone is encouraged to donate and support the deserving organizations.

The minimum gift to an organization is $10 and comes with fun incentives as an added thank you. Incentives include a variety of offers and discounts from local businesses throughout Portland such as a free 4 oz. scoop of ice cream from Salt & Straw, a free cupcake from Palace Cakes, free coffee for Stumptown Coffee Roasters, $30 off a ticket from Portland Center Stage, and much more! Note, that the incentives are only offered while supplies last, so make sure you donate early!

In addition to the incentive thank you bags, there are also designated Big Give Days in which donors will be entered into a raffle for awesome prizes such as a $500 shopping spree at Powells Book’s. Be sure to follow us on Twitter @PencilPete for reminders!

Help support us by spreading the word to your family and friends. Also, be sure to “like”, “favorite”, and “retweet” us on social media. We are so thankful for all the overwhelming support that we get year-round. We wish everyone a joyful and warm holiday season!
