OnPoint Celebrity Spelling Bee : About OnPoint

w_130131_Bee_052Founded by a group of teachers in 1932, OnPoint Community Credit Union has been supporting classrooms for years. And as the returning title sponsor of this year’s OnPoint Community Credit Union Celebrity Spelling Bee, the cooperative looks to keep that storied history of support going into 2014, and beyond.

We here at Schoolhouse Supplies are thankful for the spectacular individuals and corporations who support us at different fundraising events. And, thought we can hardly believe it is nearly here,  in just one week, we’ll be holding our signature fundraising event, the annual Celebrity Spelling Bee. A night filled with dazzling spectacle and philanthropy within the beautiful Portland Art Museum, this single event plays a critical role in helping us keep our shelves stocked in the Free Store for Teachers.

“We are a proud supporter of Schoolhouse Supplies, and sponsor of this

event that celebrates the work of teachers and provides important resources to help students succeed” said Rob Stuart, OnPoint President & CEO. Serving more than 260,000 members, and with assets of $3.4 billion, OnPoint Community Credit Union is the largest credit union in Oregon. Their membership is available to anyone who lives or works in Oregon, as well as Washington’s Skamania and Clark counties, and their immediate family members.

Having a title sponsor like OnPoint Community Union — a like-minded and monumental organization supporting thousands of Pacific Northwesters — is a tremendous honor for us at Schoolhouse Supplies. It is in large part due to their support that we will be able to make such a tremendous impact in the lives of teachers, students, and classrooms throughout Portland in 2014. For that, we are forever grateful.
