JOIN US for Comcast Cares Day

comcast-cares[1]Our volunteers at Schoolhouse Supplies are simply incredible. The hours and effort put into our projects come with the care that went into the Sistine Chapel, in our humble opinion. Because of this, we hope to gather fifteen of our own volunteers to help spruce up the grounds at Parkland & Oliver Elementary for Comcast Cares Day. Comcast has been a long time supporter of Schoolhouse Supplies and an outstanding partner. If we gather fifteen volunteers on behalf of Schoolhouse we can also receive a small grant in addition to providing the community with meaningful service.

Comcast Cares Day is the nation’s largest single-day corporate service effort mobilizing volunteers across the country to bring positive impact to the community. Comcast employees, families and friends join together to improve schools and nonprofits all over Oregon. And the impact has been remarkable. In thirteen years of serving communities across the country and around the globe, Comcast and NBCUniversal volunteers have clocked more than 3 million volunteer hours between half a million volunteers. Schoolhouse Supplies volunteers are invited to join Comcast Cares Day to provide tangible service to two high-needs schools in the Portland community.

On April 26th we encourage you to pick up paintbrushes and shovels to beautify the grounds, garden, classrooms and hallways at Parklane & Oliver Elementary Schools. With planting and painting this family friendly volunteer activity has projects for all ages and skill levels. Bonus – there’s even a morning snack, lunch and a free t-shirt involved!
