For most students, the new school year begins in only a week! This also means that we are in the final week of the KGW School Supply Drive! With one week to go, we are currently able to serve 3,412 students throughout the Portland Metro area with school supplies for the school year. You can help us reach our goal of supporting 8,000 by making a donation online.
If you would rather give supplies then, you’re in luck because dropping off school supplies is especially convenient this year with over 90 drop off locations participating in the drive. Check our complete list for the nearest location to you.
Additionally, there are two great collection events this weekend! There is still one Fred Meyer Collection Event left this Saturday at the Raleigh Hills Fred Meyer from 2-4 pm. Swing by to drop off school supplies as you get your holiday weekend grocery shopping done and also take advantage of their Price Blaster savings through Sunday the 31st.
Also on Saturday is the Fill the Bus Collection Event at the Happy Valley Walmart located at from 11-4 pm! Pick up some of these rollback savings and donate them to our supply drive!
A portion of your school supply donations will go towards stocking our Free Store for Teachers where teachers can come and get the essential supplies they need to educate without paying a penny, which is a huge stress reliever as we enter the new school year. We are very thankful for all the support that we have received from businesses and individuals throughout the drive and we hope that you will also join us in making sure that students start off their school year with all the tools they need to learn and achieve.
