Creative Reuse Project Ideas

Our Free Store Coordinator, Barb is always resourceful and creative!  Recently, when a large donation of pre-printed dividers came in, instead of recycling them, she came up with a couple of awesome reuse projects are fun for teachers and students! One project is making greeting cards fashioned from binder dividers and another is making fun notepads! The best part—ALL of the supplies can be found in the Free Store!

From Binder Dividers to Grepickerimage (5)eting Cards

Materials Needed:

  • Dividers
  • Scissors or paper cutter
  • Glue
  • Magazine images, old book pages, wrapping paper, construction paper
  • Your imagination!

Steps:

  1. Remove tab and prong
  2. Fold in half
  3. Design a fun collagepickerimage (6)
  4. Glue collage onto card

 

Recycled/Found Object Note Pads

Materials Needed:

  • 2 hole punch
  • Scissors
  • Magazine images, old book pages, wrapping paper, construction paper
  • Rubber bands
  • Found natural sticks, pencils, chopsticks, or small dowels

Steps

  1. Cut found paper into sheets all the same size
    1. Be sure to include both inside and outside pages
  2. Punch holes using 2 hole punch
  3. Attach stick or binder of choice with rubber band
  4. Enjoy!
