Over 10,000 Students Received Backpacks

September 8, 2017

Thanks to the generosity of 27 local businesses and organizations, 10,403 low-income students in four school districts received school-supply-filled backpacks at the beginning of the school year. 20 high-need schools in Portland and Hillsboro were each sponsored by one or more of our partners. At each school, employee volunteers took time from their workdays to join the school’s students to pack and distribute the backpacks. Additional backpacks were distributed to school district offices.

A huge and heartfelt thank you to all of our dedicated sponsors. You are the best!
