You may have heard, it’s Art Month in the Free Store for Teachers. That means we have art supplies. From colored pencils, crayons and markers, to paint, watercolors and pastels! We are excited to have these to offer our teacher shoppers.
But it’s not just art supplies. We have actual art in the Free Store! Mt Tabor Middle School allowed us to have some amazing prints to help spruce up the space for Art Month. The display includes more than 200 individual block prints created by Mt. Tabor students and curated by their art teacher Molly Renauer. We have a full photo album on our Facebook page for a closer look at this incredible work.
And finally, to inspire some alternate use for a few additional supplies in the Free Store, our very own Free Store Coordinator, Barb Burwell is lending her talents, and lesson plans, from her former arts workshop teaching days. Barb has created a Romare Bearden Button project with instructions and a display for a creative use of a stash of two-inch buttons we have.
Now we hope you will get out there and MAKE ART! If you make something fun, share it with us on our Facebook page!
