New York Life Community Impact Grant Award

PORTLAND, Ore., March 24, 2015 – Schoolhouse Supplies announced today that it was awarded a $25,000 Community Impact Grant from New York Life. The grant will support Schoolhouse Supplies’ Tools for Schools program that provides backpacks filled with school supplies to every student at a designated school.

“We are grateful for New York Life’s investment in Schoolhouse Supplies’ Tools for Schools program, which will impact many lives for the better,” said Lisa Palermo, development director at Schoolhouse Supplies. “The generous support of New York Life, will enable us to provide a backpack filled with supplies to support an entire year of learning to Harrison Park School this fall.”

The Community Impact Grant program awards grants of up to $25,000 to local nonprofit organizations which are championed by New York Life agents and employees to serve the needs of their local communities. More than 340 grants totaling nearly $4 million have been awarded to nonprofits across the country since the program’s inception in 2008.
