‘Tis The Season – 3 Ways To Give

December 10, 2012

basics-office-suppliesAs the holidays descend upon us, thoughts often turn to giving back to the community.  Here at Schoolhouse Supplies we’ve got lots of different ways to give back and to support local students and teachers by helping them get the tools they need to succeed.

Give Time

Volunteer with us in our Free Store for Teachers stocking shelves, checking in teachers or sorting through donated supplies. Come by yourself or gather a group of friends and see the immediate impact you can make. You can even sign up to take a turn as Pencil Pete, our loveable mascot. Or become a Pick Up Partner and use your vehicle to pick up donated supplies at local business and take them back to the Schoolhouse Supplies warehouse. Give Money

You can donate to Schoolhouse Supplies anytime. Donate by check through the mail, securely online on our website and until the end of the year through the Willamette Week Give!Guide, where you can win special prizes. With our leveraged buying power, a donation of just $50 helps us provide $200 worth of supplies straight to classrooms!  All donations are tax deductible. Give Supplies

We are always accepting new or gently-used school, office, and art supplies at our Free Store for Teachers.  We always need the basics like pencils, pens, glue bottles and sticks, markers, erasers, copy paper but also will take items you might not think of at first for use as classroom incentives. If you’re a business and about to toss that old letterhead – don’t. We’ll turn it into sketchbooks for the next Van Gogh.   You can give re-usable supplies a new life in Portland classrooms. We are open Monday through Friday from 9-5 to receive your supplies (map & directions). Drop by with your donation schoolhousesupplies.org/donate/donate-supplies

However you choose to do so, thank you for giving this season and Happy Holidays from all of us at Schoolhouse Supplies!
